When to Request Side Show and When to Decline a Side Show Request

Side show is one of Teen Patti's unique mechanics, and knowing when to accept or reject a request is a vital tactical skill. Many players accept every side show offer automatically, which costs them unnecessary chips.

You should request a side show only when you hold a medium-strength hand and suspect the opponent also has a borderline hand. The goal is to remove one competitor cheaply before the pot grows too large. Ideal conditions include a medium pot size and only one opponent ahead of you.

Do not ask for side show if you hold a very strong hand. If you have trail or pure sequence, decline to propose side show. Instead, keep betting to build the pot and get more value. Requesting side show with a premium hand signals strength and makes the opponent fold, ending your chance to win a bigger pot.

Never request side show with a weak high card. If your opponent accepts, you lose instantly. Weak hands should be folded instead of proposing a side show.

When another player sends you a side show request, your response depends on your hand. Accept the side show only when you believe your hand beats their range. If you hold a strong hand, accepting can eliminate them from the round.

If your hand is weak or marginal, reject the side show request. Rejecting does not cost chips. You keep your cards and continue normal betting. You do not need to explain your reason for declining.

Also consider the pot size when evaluating a side show request. If the pot is already huge, rejecting may be better. You can keep playing and go to full showdown, to win the large pot if your hand holds up.

Remember the eligibility rule: only seen players can start side show, and you can only side show the previous seen player. Blind players cannot initiate side show requests.

Side show is a tactical tool, not a default action. Carefully evaluate your hand strength, pot size and opponent's possible holdings before sending or accepting any side show request. Mastering this choice reduces many avoidable losses in Teen Patti.
